I was in Israel in 2000. It turns out that I  we were among the last  of the  tourists  who  were allowed up on the Temple Mount.
 
Why?
 
Because, as we flew OUT of Israel, the talks between Clinton, Arafat and Barak had also "collapsed" and Barak, literally, was known to have passed us somewhere in the air - returning to Israel as our group was leaving it.
 
Soon after that, Ariel Sharon led a group of Israelis up onto the Temple Mount area, which was the instigating factor, starting with simple rock-throwing,  but eventually leading up to some of the crisis events in Israel as we know them today.
 
Tours of the Temple Mount area, including the Dome of the Rock itself, were cancelled.
 
While I was up on the mount, touring the very areas Jesus must have walked, I noticed a "skip loader" tractor driving, doing some sort of business on the Temple Mount.
 
I asked our Israeli guide what the tractor was up to. He informed the group that this was an ongoing, secretive and clearly illegal desecration of the Temple Mount Site, by non-Jewish people, who were deliberately attempting to remove any evidence that the Jewish Temple had ever stood there  on this mount .
 
Brazenly, without consequences, those illegal excavations have been going on, unchecked to this very day, resulting, now, in the natural and "prophetic" collapsing of the wall.
 
Jesus said there would be signs in the earth - and I believe this is one of them.
 
We do not worship the Temple, nor AT the Temple, but we do Worship THE TEMPLE, Jesus Christ Himself,
 
"Jesus answered and said to them, "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.  . . .    But He was speaking of the temple of His body."   John 2:19-22
 
While we may (and should) pray for the restoration of the Temple Mount as a symbol of the Messiah Himself, may we more importantly pray for the Jewish People to have Peace with their brother Ishmael, and may may they all soon see the rebuilding of the broken - down walls of the Body of the Christ, both Jew and Gentile - by  their receiving of their Messiah,  Jesus Christ Himself.
 
Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem!
