Justice Still Lifts Up Her Voice
The prophet Isaiah took up this lament: "No one calls for justice. Nor does
any plead for the truth. They trust in empty words and speak lies; they conceive
evil and bring forth iniquity...we look for light but there is darkness...we
grope for the wall like the blind. For truth is fallen in the street and equity
cannot enter. Truth fails and he who departs from evil makes himself a prey.
Then the Lord saw it and it displeased Him that there was no justice. He saw
that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor; He put on
righteousness as a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation on His head; He put
on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloak.
According to their deeds He will repay, fury to His adversaries, recompense
to His enemies...so they shall fear the name of the Lord from the west, and
His glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy comes in like a flood the
Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him." This messianic declaration
was fulfilled in type when the king of Esther's day lent his strength to God's
people and destroyed Haman who had plotted genocide and stirred up the governors
of Persia to evil.
The U.S. Army seal bears the motto "This We'll Defend" surmounting a liberty
cap thrust aloft on a pike. The defense of liberty is the enduring thread that
connects the selfless service of an American soldier, from the patriots who
came to the defense of the revolution in 1775 to the men and women stationed
in Afghanistan, Iraq, and the other fronts for freedom around the world. American
soldiers and Marines are front line watchmen on the ground preserving and extending
America's destiny around the world. As the leader of the free world in a time
when moral clarity is blurred, while men become lovers of themselves and despotism
and chaos threaten the nations....justice still lifts up her voice. The Lady
with her lamp lifted high from the harbor of New York still stands as a sentinel
of hope for the oppressed.
God's Purposes Are Upon the U.S.
The United States of America was conceived in the heart of God. Our history
holds forth many proofs, from Columbus to the Puritans down through the founding
fathers, it was Spirit of the Lord who ordained to make America foremost among
nations for His end time purposes. Those purposes are upon us. Our national
destiny reaches far beyond our own borders and personal vision. For the first
time in 300 years, a tyrant from across the sea threatens our shores. Osama
Bin Laden's minions call for our destruction and the tyrant of Baghdad pays
assassins to lay in wait for troops who have gone to lift a people out of the
dust in Iraq. The remnant in America who know their God, from the Whitehouse
to the battlefield to the church sanctuary, have come to the kingdom for such
a time as this.
There is a great history lesson in the story King Joash and Elisha. It is one
that we must heed or history will repeat itself. Joash knew that Israel's strength
lay not in her armies but in the friendship and anointing of God. Israel's enemies
viewed Israel's strength according to her armies. The king came to the prophet
for help. With bow in hand, Elisha put his hands upon the king's. Together they
shot an arrow into the sky in the direction of the oppressor's land. "The arrow
of the Lord's deliverance!" the prophet told the king. "Now take the arrows
and strike the ground." But the king struck three times and stopped. God had
ordained complete victory but the king stopped short of it. There is no doubt
that the war on terror and the subsequent battle for freedom in Iraq are events
posed by the God of heaven in answer to the cry of the prisoner and in reply
to the threats of an enemy who hates righteousness. But we must not stop until
we gain the victory. During the Watch of the Lord on Friday, July 18, the Spirit
of the Lord spoke to us and said, "Make up a wall. Stand in the gap before Me
for the land." With renewed vigor of faith and purpose of heart to press through
to victory in a battle begun by the Lord against the ruthless spirit of antichrist
arisen against the innocent of our nation and the world we initiated 71 days
of fasting prayer in Troop Watch. Within 72 hours of initiating that call the
henchmen sons of one of the world's antichrists were delivered up.
A Call to Prayer
We must keep striking. We are inviting Christians everywhere to rally fresh
prayers behind and before U.S. and coalition deployed military fronts. Join
with us in vigilant prayer. Make up a wall of prayer to protect the lives of
our sons and daughters standing in the gap for justice in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Call upon the Lord to loose His angels in greater numbers for protection from
the enemy and for the devices to snare the rebels being sought, Saddam Hussein
and Osama Bin Laden in particular. You will find extensive prayers from scripture
on our web site to help you. You may write or call our office if you would
like your name added to the calendar as you take the stance of an intercessor
through the end of September to see God's will be done on earth as He has established
it in heaven.
"Stand therefore having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate
of righteousness...take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit,
which is the word of God, praying with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit,
being watchful to this end with all perseverance...." Ephesians 6:14-18

"The Hidden
Power of Speaking in Tongues"
by Mahesh Chavda
"I thank my God
I speak in tongues more than you all." -SPOKEN BY THE APOSTLE PAUL
Almost 40 years
ago John and Elizabeth Sherill introduced the world to the phenomenon of
'speaking in tongues' in their book, They Speak with Other Tongues. The
book was an immediate success as thousands were touched by the power of
this spiritual gift.
The Hidden Power of Speaking in Tongues again explores this spiritual experience
powerfully prevalent in the early church. This much maligned and controversial
gift was a practical part of their worship and intercession and seeks to
be rediscovered in our day.
In a day of spiritual poverty, Chavda challenges the Body of Christ to experience
afresh the secret dynamic of 'speaking in tongues', as he removes the veil
covering this glorious gift.
