Note by Steve Shultz: I loved Nora Lam's book, China Cry, now out of print. My own Father, James H. Shultz Jr. was born in China, the child of American Christian Missionaries there. They returned as the communists took over the country.

A WORD FOR THE PERSECUTED CHURCH IN CHINA:  "Help is On It's Way! Expect My Kingdom Assets!"

During my quiet time this evening (31.7.3), I had a vision of China and in the spiritual realm I saw thousands of books, cassette tapes, videotapes, pamphlets, Bibles and all kinds of resources flying into China. I knew immediately that the Lord desired to release Kingdom assets to the suffering church in China.

Immediately following this prophetic imagery, I was shown a huge angel who was flying over China and in his hands he carried a Holy Bible. The Bible was open and the angel was declaring Luke 3:11. I could hardly wait to look up the Scripture. I did so without hesitation. This is what the angel had been proclaiming as a promise for China:

"The man with two tunics should share with him who has none and the one who has food should do the same." Luke 3:11

As I continued to intercede for China I was lifted up in the Spirit and saw many small house-group gatherings where people were interceding and asking Christ for spiritual daily bread for China. I saw one young woman with tears of anguish in her eyes, which changed to tears of joy as an angel came to her and said, "Help is on it's way".

With all my heart, I believe the Lord is speaking to the global church to provide generously for the church in China. It is an act of compassion to feed a hungry man. Likewise, it is a gift of the love of God to make available resources ('spiritual daily bread') for these precious believers, many of whom are currently being persecuted for their faith.

I see translators being raised up for such a time as this, to make such documents and videotapes etc. accessible for the Chinese believers in their own language. Currently organizations such as the Bible Society and Open Doors faithfully serve the church in China. We bless all who have given sacrificially and thank the Lord for even more abundant gifts of time, money and resources for the church in China.

Beloved, in the West we are so fortunate to have freedom of speech and liberty to worship and adore Christ without fear of reprisal. In addition, we also have access to many wonderful kingdom resources - more than enough to share. The Lord calls his church to give lavishly. Let's believe together and act in faith to see Kingdom resources pour into China in an unprecedented level.

Blessings of peace and grace

The Normal, The Deep and the Crazy
by Catherine Brown
$11.95 Book

One would be hard pushed to find a person who would not derive some significant enjoyment and benefit from reading Catherine Brown's book, "The Normal The Deep and The Crazy". As the foreword indicates, it is written from the stuff of real life. Indeed the book is a welcome companion on our journey.

From those who have bought and read the first copies of the book, released in May, come reports of people receiving great encouragement, fresh insights, and a new sense of hope and purpose for their life. Avoiding any sense of sensationalism, Catherine recalls and recounts a story of pain and humor, trial and error, depression and joy. Every story, like every life, is unique, yet we gain so much as we encounter a life that is shared.

Although the book does not set out to ' teach', one cannot help picking up truth, or 'seeing' old truth from another angle. The discovery and rediscovery of God, that is Catherine's experience, will touch your heart and challenge any temptation to settle for mere religious observance. For too many following Jesus has become a hobby that must 'fit in' with life.

Catherine Brown demonstrates just how close God can be to those who hear his heartbeat and stop to listen to his voice.

For those in the late teens and twenties, this book will show how    early passion is lost through wrong choices. More importantly, Catherine shows how 'those who hunger and thirst' will be 'filled'. There is a generation rising up who are looking to radically pursue their God, and who enjoy and celebrate his loving pursuit of them. Catherine Brown is a forerunner for these extreme prayers, worshippers, and servants. "The Normal, The Deep, and The Crazy" will serve them well.

It certainly is a good starting place. So, at whatever stage you are at in life, this book will stimulate the memories, the mind, and the heart. Read and enjoy.
