Dear Elijah List Readers,
Just moments ago, I wrote this
testimony (for lack of a better word) of what happened to me last weekend.
I had not read Sandy Warner's word (below) about God Smiling. I had not
seen it. But this is what I wrote to another person regarding prayer for
one who is close and needs prayer . . . . I am going to take out names to
protect privacies, and I've edited it just slightly--- but I want you
all to see what I wrote to this person, because it was only minutes ago
and it involves MY STORY. Do you just suppose that this theme is on the
Lord's mind tonight? (or today, as the case may be when you read this?)

"Yes, Lord, I pray
for and over ______that he would receive what you have for him, not in
terms of what we would understand, but in terms of what YOU would
understand, Lord. I think the Lord wants to surprise you ______ with the
method in his "madness." Of course, to us...sometimes, the Lord's ways
appear as madness. But He sits up in heaven and laughs.
The other day, with Heidi Baker here, the Lord took me in
vision or whatever, to my old summer camp day, where I later was actually
married to my wife Derene in 1978. I was so legalistic back then and felt
I knew what was right and who was wrong...so full of judgment but I didn't
think I was. Of course, I'm NOT saying you are that...but I'm only telling
you my own experience about the Lord "laughing." I saw him laughing, year
after year at me --with me--and for me---at this summer camp, while I
sought him for guidance, for a wife, for my life.
I was so full of junk and wrong expectations, but He saw
HIS plan for me...the whole time. He just laughed and kept on
laughing...for about 3 years of my summer camp
experience..... uproariously. Then one day, in this vision the other
night, I saw Derene appear, the day of our wedding and first I saw her as
she was dressed earlier in the morning and then later in her beautiful
wedding dress. I saw her as my great and undeserved reward.
And HE was laughing again--or should I say He was still
laughing. Because He knew His plans for me.
It broke me. I sat there and sobbed and sobbed...the
good kind of sob. God's kindness to me was overwhelming because it wasn't
based on my deservedness that year, or any year....or my good choices----
but on HIS CHOICE towards me.
Here I am, having been married 25 years, and in my
fortunate and blessed state, more happy than ever. But God did it all. ALL
of it. To others whose marriages have not worked out, God laughs there
too, NOT at their misfortune but at what He yet plans for them. He knows
just how good those plans are.
I guess I said all that to say that God is LAUGHING
regarding ______. He laughs and laughs because ______ doesn't stand a
chance against the Lord's plans for him. I would, were I you, pray the
prayer of agreement and simply laugh with the Lord about and over him. He
wants you to laugh because His plans for ____ are so splendid and amazing,
surprising and box-shattering!
Just laugh. Ps 2:4 "The One enthroned in heaven
laughs." (from New International Version)
That's what I'm getting for you (and all of you reading
this) . Just let God be God in your stuff. It will be a blast and the
burden on your shoulders will simply lift or fall off or both.
Have a nice sleep. Safe in the arms of Jesus, laughing
of course.

CAN IT BE?
I have given you My sign of victory,
for this is your season. You have gone through your spiritual tornadoes
and floods. In spite of everything, you were faithful to trust Me and hold
on.
With sighs and whys, you have been wondering what’s next. It’s time to
correct your attitude. Yes, My love, it’s time to graduate! You say, "It
can’t be!" I say, "Yes it can, My love!" You made it. Remove the shame and
the pain for I AM smiling upon you, and not frowning.
Rise up above the world’s storms and be counted among the faithful who
have survived by simply leaning upon Me. Just watch and worship Me, I will
show you what is to come. Even now I AM dressing you in cap and gown.
