HIDDEN TREASURE

by JOSEPH KEESLING
May 26, 2003

Note by Steve Shultz:    My friend Joe Keesling sent this prophetic poetry to me just when I was dealing with the issue of thinking the most highly of others (or not)...the very thing the Scripture teaches.  God continues to teach me more about the area of judging others. God requires of us...not that we do not evaluate others....but that we must not JUDGE others--even those who are clearly guilty. Do not forget that for the openly guilty, Jesus asked of His Father, "Forgive them, for they don't know what they are doing." That was not just truth for us--or only a truism... It was instruction for us to follow regarding our own enemies--and even the harsh judging of ourselves--as if we are our own enemies.  God can and will do more with our NON-judgment against our human enemies than all we can accomplish with our own "Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil."  By the way, a great book on this subject is Rick Joyner's book or 4-tape series called, "There were two Trees in the Garden," ---  Both book and tapes can be found at:  http://theelijahlist.safeshopper.com/312/cat312.htm?405

Here's something the Lord quickened to me sitting here last evening.   Here's what the Lord, rather suddenly, prompted me to write.  I hope it encourages you.

Blessings,

       Hidden Treasure

His treasure is in vessels earthen,
And that is what we are called to "see".
It is not just the outward person,
But it's the inner man that could be.

Recall those words of Christ crucified -
When their actions are hard to defend:
"By your words you will be justified,
And by your words you will be condemned."  - Matt 12:35-37

When you see yourself as just rubbish,
That is all that you will see in them.
And the only one you will vanquish?
It's yourself, with harsh words that condemn!

Don't you know that you are His treasure?
-  Ex 19:5, Deut 7:6, Deut 26:18, Titus 2:14, 1 Peter 2:9

You're more valued than silver or gold.
He's given His life without measure.
Speak by faith and you'll watch it unfold!

Not just in yourself but in others,
You encourage, by faith, things not seen.
Speak His life to the hidden treasure,
Speaking words that will never demean!

So speak to that now-hidden treasure,
To those close and to those who offend.
Giving grace, let that be your pleasure
And soon it will be you he'll defend.

And pray at all times for His presence.
Speaking grace, you are sure to have room.
As you live your life give Him reverence,
You'll have joy, power, peace, and no gloom.
