Identification in Intercession

A Clear Word from the Lord
Some time ago I was awakened by an audible voice from the Lord early one
morning while I had been asleep after ministering in New York City. The
following is the clear word that came that morning
that I have been pondering on ever since and seeking the new
understandings and fresh applications of.
The word pierced my being.
"I
will release new understandings of identification in intercession
whereby the legal basis of the rights of the demonic powers of the air
to remain will be removed."
Following in Daniel's Footsteps
Recently I
was also given a dream where an old wooden box was given to me with a
key of revelation to open it up. As I put the key in the box, there was
an old manuscript in it that I was given to read. It was the Book of
Daniel. The Lord will be opening fresh understandings to us in the
coming days from the book of Daniel. This has a lot to do with God's
end time purposes and how humble and yet powerful forms of intercession
will be needed for both Israel, the church and God's
purposes to be fulfilled.
"O
Lord, in accordance with all Your righteous acts, let now Your anger and
Your wrath turn away from Your city Jerusalem, Your holy mountain; for
because of our sins and the
iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and Your people have become a
reproach to all those around us… O Lord, hear! O Lord, forgive! O Lord,
listen and take action! For Your own sake, O my God, do not delay,
because Your city and Thy people are called by Your name"
(Daniel 9:16, 19)
Revelatory
Teaching – Fresh Understandings
Like Daniel, we cannot
change the past - but we can
erase its sting so that the failures of yesterday of not permeate our
response and reaction for today and the future. We are too
doomed to repeat yesterday's
mistakes. At the end of every pencil there is a handy instrument in red.
Just give that wooden instrument a 180-degrees-turn
and wipe out the marks through the red tip at the other end. Yes,
yesterday's failures are just a
temporary blemish waiting to be removed by the wood cross and the blood
of Jesus.
What does "identification
in intercession" mean? What does
it have to do with disempowering demonic decrees? I am convinced that it
is one of the highest, yet most overlooked, aspects of true
intercession. It truly has been a "lost
art," but it is being restored
to the Church's arsenal of
prayer in this hour.
It includes a wedding of the spirit
of revelation (Eph.1:17-18) and
the spirit of conviction (Jn. 16:7-8). The spirit of revelation imparts "wisdom
and insight" (Eph. 1:8)
regarding the nature, degree, and depth of family, national and even
generational sin, while the spirit of conviction awakens within us a
deep identificational burden for those sins before God -
with a desperate desire for confession, repentance, and
forgiveness. This wedding of revelation and conviction gives birth to a
heart cry for the removal of the sin obstacles that hinder the fullness
of spiritual awakening in the earth.
Take Aim! Our Intercessory Targets
Don't
you long for the legal basis rights of the demonic powers of the air to
remain to be removed? I do! As we walk in the opposite spirit of this
world system and walk in the spirit of Christ we will release the
Kingdom rule of God on the earth.
I have identified 6 key areas where progress has
been being made, yet where there is the need for much more work to be
done. I have written a detailed chapter on each of these areas in my new
book - "Intercession -
The Power and the Passion to Shape History."
I will simply list the following Intercessory Targets for you.
My Simple Prayer Burden
Holy Father, grant us Your heart and Your grace for this deepening work
of identification in intercession. Open the book of Daniel to us in this
hour. Open our eyes to see and grant us Your broken heart. Help us to
lay down our lives, grace us to agree with the sin and condition of Your
people, like Daniel and others did, and help us to properly carry the
burdens to Your throne. Make us true intercessors, willing to be the
answer to our very prayers. Help us, Jesus, to model Your life. For the
sake of Your Kingdom and Your glory, Amen.
