"SAINTS PRESERVE US!" A GOOD REPORT AND CALL FOR THE LIVING SAINTS TO "PRESERVE" MEN AND WOMEN ON THE BATTLEFIELD

STEVE SHULTZ
Mar 29, 2003

In the last few days, I keep hearing these words, "Saints, Preserve Us!"

As with many prophetic words, it takes awhile to figure out what "Listening Post" the Lord has one at. Eventually, it became clear that I was hearing, in the Spirit, the soldiers crying out to God, sometimes just from the depths of their hearts, sometimes out loud --- they are calling out to the Lord for intercessors--for those who pray . . .  to pray for THEM.

Yes, They are seeking the Lord for your prayers for them.

On one of the news channels, one young man was asked how he felt during the last fierce battle.

"I hope I don't die. I hope my friends don't die," he said.

God is hearing the cry of the hearts of men and women from the "Coalition of the Willing," -- Those countries with "known" troops on this battlefield are:   The United States, Britain, and Australia.

This week, I began hearing the names of people on the battlefield. Some of the names, I felt might be possibly in trouble. Others, I felt they might perish in battle and I was to pray for the Lord to reveal himself to them. As I mentioned 5-7 names, suddenly the burden lifted, as if "it is finished." I'll perhaps not ever know this side of heaven what that prayer did. I'll get more names from the Lord to pray, I'm sure.

 ===================================
 Do you ever get names?    Pray them!
 ===================================

Do you ever get names?  Pray them.  Do you get emergency "feelings," or "senses" that something needs to be prayed about right now in Iraq?  Pray it. Here's an encouragement for you.  You can't pray too much.  And even if you get it "wrong," --  then this Scripture comes into play:

Rom 8:26

"So too the [Holy] Spirit comes to our aid and bears us up  in our weakness; for we do not know what prayer to offer  nor how to offer it worthily as we ought, but the Spirit Himself goes to meet our supplication and pleads in our behalf with unspeakable yearnings and groanings too deep for utterance."  AMP

 ===========================================
 Even if you pray wrong, you won't miss it!
 ===========================================

One of the applications to this scripture is that, even when we don't know how to pray and even when we pray "wrong," even when we're not feeling worthy to pray, -- The Holy Spirit takes our prayers and pleads them "in our behalf," in HIS, [the Holy Spirit's] own language -- to God.

 A few days ago we published this prayer request to the Readership of the Elijah List. Responses from all over the world poured in to this request:

 A Good Report! Rev. Cherrie tell what YOUR prayer did in Iraq
 =========================================================

This was sent out early last week:

"P.S. One of our long-time readers and friend,  Pastor Cherrie, of Michigan, has a 25-year old daughter who is in Northern Iraq tonight, helping to pick up Prisoners.  She would love to have Elijah List readers praying for her daughter (who we will not name here).

Pastor Cherrie's email is: csporleder@alphacomm.net

Just today, I received this back from Cherrie. It's about Saints preserving Saints through Prayer. I feel that it's  okay now to name Cherrie's 25-year old daughter. Her name is Lisa.

From: Rev. Cherrie

"Dear Steve,

"The day I received all those prayers form people around the world, Lisa said she was in her tent and 4 _____ missiles were aimed at them however Patriots took out 2, leaving 2 which hit right behind her tent. She said there wasn't even any debris near her. She called yesterday and said they were in Iraq [not mentioning where] but that they  had just passed through a town with their convoy and  children were lined up along the road. One boy about 10 yelled to Lisa in English, "I love you." The children tried getting into their humvee's wanting food and water, which of course they had to lock the doors. The children kissed the hands of some of the soldiers. While we were talking on the phone 7 missiles went off around them within 100 yards of her vehicle, within 3 minutes. She said it looked like the 4 of July.  It sounded like a movie on TV. I thank you again for sending out that email. I am still receiving emails with prayer for Lisa and the troops and asking for prayer for their loved one over there. Some from Canada are saying they disagree with their leader not standing with our Pres. They support us and our troops. Lisa started a bible study over there and 5 guys (who didn't know the Lord,) are coming. I made copies of emails from those responding to pray for Lisa and her unit. I told her what you did and how many responded. She was overwhelmed.

Thank you again, Cherrie

I wanted to give a good,   no, --- a GREAT report of the results of your prayers.

Let me tell you some more about what your prayers have done so far:

1) Believe it or not, there is an unprecedented "low" number of Allied casualties for this much fighting

2) The missile that hit Kuwait last night, hit only about 45 min. after the last person left the theatre, and there were only minor injuries.

3) One bridge was set for explosives but not wired.

4) Another bridge was both set with explosive and also wired, yet the bridge was not exploded.

5) One camera man with Fox news took a prisoner.

6) Some 14-17 missiles have been fired, with almost no affect against the allies.

Your prayers are working!  Pray what you hear. Pray names. Pray about the dreams you get. Concerned about a situation that comes to mind in Iraq? Pray it.  Every day, throughout the day,  pray for the troops, and pray for the innocents on both sides. Pray that the oppressed will go free!  If you don't know how to pray . . . pray in the spirit. And pray for salvations.

 [By the way, If you have a prayer request for yourself or a loved one, send it in to Mary Kay Lynd's list.  Her list is called, "Praying for you" and it has some 500 folks on it, many of whom will pray for your request. Mary is blind, and she does this list from home as a ministry to others. Send your  50-word prayer request to:   marykay_lynd@yahoo.com  ]

Letting the Oppressed Go Free
===============================

   Isa 58:6-9

   6 "Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen:  to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?
   7 Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter-- when you see the naked, to clothe him, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?
   8 Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear; then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the LORD will be your rear guard.
   9 Then you will call, and the LORD will answer;  you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I.(NIV)
