A note about THE CALL, Kansas City  -- By Steve Shultz,
Publisher, The Elijah List - www.elijahlist.com

I asked my daughter, Tawny, to write a report on her experience
at THE CALL, Kansas City on December 31.

It's taken me longer than I intended to get this report out to you, but
I know it was worth the wait. It was quite an anointed event.

The Elijah List is proud to stand behind each and every event
of THE CALL. --- Steve Shultz

A LITTLE HISTORY

First of all, a little history about what the Lord had spoken about The Call Kansas City beforehand.  The Lord had revealed to many people what His plan for this day was.  Even years and years ago!  Even for this exact location and building (The Convention Center in down town Kansas City, held in Bartle Hall).

As in each Call, the call is for a massive gathering to pray and fast for Repentance (both personal and corporate), Reconciliation (between generations, races, and genders), Revival, and Revolution (challenging a generation to a higher level of passionate consecration to Christ, producing personal and societal transformation).

But the Lord was calling this Call a "Pearl of Great Price."

Drawing excerpts from "Prophets Point to 'The Call Kansas City' --- A Prophetic report and invitation to Kansas City by Jon Hamill, "Lou Engle wrote that 'it is the one that's been hidden, whose influence has been seen as regional rather than national.  But now, I saw it as the center, of supreme importance.  It is the place where we are being called to return to our first love - to Jesus, the Bridegroom,' recounts Engle. 'We can't go on to deal with the issues of sexual compromise, materialism and abortion represented in the next three Calls unless we've had another passion awakened inside of us that's stronger than these powers.  It's First Love.'"

"Related to this, Cindy Jacob's released this prophetic word at The Call New York, pertaining to the Call Kansas City.  Her words were 'I am bringing forth such (Yada) intimacy with My people at The Call Kansas City. The Lord says what will be birthed will be Revival, even as Pentecost was birthed in that heartland region, so I have brought My heart there.  The Lord says 'Look and see, this timing is key to the breaking out of Revival to this whole nation for it's a "marriage." There will be a release from this marriage that will affect the whole nation.'"

See Jon Hamill's word:  "Re-mantling America: Youth Revival Coming to Our Nation--Watch 'The Call, Kansas City, December 31, 2002'"  http://www.elijahlist.com/words/display_word.html?ID=1354 ,  The Lord's special desire for this day, was a symbolic, yet powerful "marriage" with a generation some have marked with an "X."  >From this new marriage and intimacy will come forth revival.  Without intimacy,  how can we be inspired to pray and intercede the Lord's heart?  And without inspiration to pray and intercede, how can revival begin in this nation?  And so was the Lord's call.

THE CALL KANSAS CITY, DECEMBER 31, 2002

(As a disclaimer, I may not remember everything in the exact order, or even everything that happened.  But I will tell you what I remember and what I was changed by!)

The Call Kansas City began at noon, with a pre-session of worship at 10:30am.  During some of this pre-session, I went downstairs to visit the IHOP room (moved for the duration of The One Thing Conference and The Call).  I had printed the prophetic words posted earlier on the Elijah List (about the Call) and had them with me in my bag, and so decided to read them and meditate on them, and pray, while worship and prayer went on in the IHOP room.  I was filled with excitement for His word to be fulfilled and to enter into symbolic "marriage" with the Lord (of course we're already married to Him but this was a prophetic act of marriage).  It is actually very hard for me to enter hours of prayer, but after this short time in IHOP (International House of Prayer)  I was filled with excitement and prepared for 12 of them that day!  And I had faith going in, that the Lord would do what He said.

When I went back upstairs when The Call was about to start, we were told that in the December 31st, 2002/January 1st, 2003 issue of the USA Today newspaper in Kansas City, a prophetic proclamation was made in the headlines (unbeknownst to it's author, who was writing about football) .  The front and center headline of the USA Today read, "The Bowls Runneth Over." - a clear prophetic headline.

What a way to begin the day of The Call!

The Bowls Runneth Over --
By Tawny Shultz

The bowls runneth over
I sent forth my word
I rained it upon the soil of the hearts of my people
And it has not returned to me void
But has been lifted up to me as a fragrant incense
Lives poured out in prayer as a drink offering

And now I will not stand by in silence any longer
But will perform that which I have spoken
That which my people have cried out to me for

The bowls runneth over!

I have proclaimed it throughout the land!
No man can shut what I have opened
And no man can open what I have shut

For my beloved came to me, humble and contrite
With repentance and fasting, I have come to heal their land
And my heart has been stirred, set aflame in passion
Burning as a bridegroom, I have come for my bride!
No longer will she be called forsaken
But married, a lover of God, beloved of Him

Not only was that awesome, but the leaders estimated that there was somewhere between 15 and 20,000 people, mostly made up of youth,  ready and committed to pray and fast.  I don't think I saw a single person who was there to be entertained.

REPENTANCE AND RECONCILIATION

We began with worship and then were led into repentance and reconciliation between the generations.  Che Ahn led the parents/youth leaders into repentance first on behalf of their generation for bringing in death and immorality for their children and for mistakes they have made as parents, with a story of repentance and reconciliation with his own father.  Afterwards one of Che Ahn's daughters led the youth in repentance for our rebellion, sin, and unforgiveness.  She also told of the repentance and reconciliation with her father, as did one of her younger sisters.  I was so humbled at their own humbleness and stirred with their passion!  Reconciliation was happening all over the room, and there were not many dry eyes in the place.  Much healing was taking place.

We then continued into racial reconciliation and repentance as well.  Repenting for racism and racial slurs, unforgiveness and bitterness, whether by ourselves or someone in our family line.  And declaring that every man is created equal!

Will Ford brought the well-known kettle he inherited from his slave forefathers.  Generations of slaves from his family line prayed into this kettle during the midnight hours to avoid being heard by their white masters.  Cindy Jacobs led out in prayer, and so we, too, prayed "into" the kettle, the "bowl" and many other leaders along with Will Ford lifted up the kettle afterwards and "poured it out" as a symbolic and prophetic act.

At one point a person of Arab descent was asked to come up on stage, and we made reconciliation with her.  She also prayed for reconciliation between the Arabs and the Jews, Ishmael and Isaac.  I was very blessed by her humbleness and forgiveness and her love for not only her own people, but the Jewish people as well!

There was also one more time of repentance that I feel was very important.  There was a movement of the Lord in Kansas some 100 years ago, but eventually was shut down.  So there was a call to repentance by anyone from Kansas or living in Kansas, and prayer that the wells would re-open again in Kansas, and from there spread like wildfire over the whole nation!  And I believe that the Lord granted favor!

REVIVAL

Shortly after, Lou Engle led us in a time of intense prayer and intercession for blinders to be removed, freedom given and revival fire in the North, the South, the East and the West.  We faced the direction for the area we prayed for and called out to God in prayer and proclaimed freedom and revival in the land would go out from there.  It was very powerful!  This was not a quiet prayer hour!  The whole place, thousands of people, were crying out loudly in intense intercession!

I felt that there was breakthrough in every thing that we prayed for!

There were also several prayer times for individuals.  At one time during the weekend, some even felt fire over their body because the Lord was "igniting" many!  Another for those who felt called to minister the Lord's bridegroom intimacy as their main focus in ministry (Mike Bickle prayed for those, as that is the place the Lord has called him to).  There was one for arts and graphic design, especially those in the business world, that the arts would be inspired by God and would touch many many people!  We prayed for healing on many individuals and there were many who were healed from physical ailments or at least had a significant difference in their healing!  And Brian and Candy Simmons prayed and imparted to those who felt called to missions, as they had been missionaries for many years in the jungles of Panama to the Kuna Indians.

There was much done both corporately and personally!

Several times after sessions of praying, we went in to worship again.  And a few times of just soaking in the Lord.  Thanking Him for what He had done, and meditating on it and on Him.  His presence was very sweet in these times.  It also was strengthening, to enable us to keep going, keep praying.  I'm sure I wasn't the only who had low points of tiredness.  And that was another thing that was so amazing!  After hours and hours of prayer, everyone was still going!  It has been my experience at many youth events, that many times, the prayer time would begin to slow down, as people just got out of the "mood" of prayer, or got tired, while a very few continued on (I confess, I'm not usually one of the people that can stay focused for hours of prayer).  But that was not the same here.  Most everyone stayed focused and engaged in prayer.  It was very united and it was powerful!

I stayed engaged in prayer and in worship, however I was longing for the moment when the Lord would seal this new relationship with us.  You can have many powerful times of prayer, but nothing can compare with the Lord himself.  I long for intimacy with Him, and to gaze upon His beauty and know Him and delight in Him.  As well as the Lord knowing us, and Him delighting in us!

It was nearer the end, and then canopies were brought out, like those used in Jewish wedding ceremonies.  And it was time to exchange vows with the Lord, the Lover, the Bridegroom.  Much fear of the Lord fell on me.  This was not something to take lightly.  Could I be faithful to Him, always?  Could I turn from all other loves, and love only Him?  It wasn't that I had never given up something, to choose the Lord instead, but that this was an official moment to declare my love and faithfulness for Him and only Him.  I knew that it was and is my heart's desire, but I also knew that my flesh is weak.  And so I prayed that with His help, "I do."  Then we got to walk under the canopies!  What delight!!  Not only was I His, but HE IS MINE.  And as a friend of mine expressed to me, this was not only about US being faithful to the Lord, but it is also about HIM being faithful to us!  Not only do we give Him our all, but He gives us HIS all!

Time for the wedding celebration!!

We got to be with the Lord and "soak in Him" afterwards, and then it turned into a great celebration!

Elijah's Revolution
The Call to Passion and Sacrifice for Radical Change

http://theelijahlist.safeshopper.com/336/3214.htm?541

by Jim W Goll and Lou Engle

A Holy Revolution of unprecedented dimension is underway today in America. In the face of relentless spiritual and moral decay, thousands of believers are answering God's call to a holy life of total and radical abandonment to Christ. In their burning passion for God they stand steadfastly for Jesus, refusing to compromise their lifestyles with the values of an increasingly secularized culture. Fired with the bold spirit of Elijah and the self-giving heart of Esther, these latter-day revolutionaries seek nothing less than the complete transformation of society through revival and spiritual awakening. Be warned! This book will challenge you as never before to a life of radical holiness and devotion to Christ. The need is great and the time is now. Come join the revolution!
