Since the beginning of November, there has been a unique spiritual attack
against pastors' families, as well as the families of pastors' staff. In the
last eight days two pastors I am close to had sons die suddenly. At our last
conference, the worship leader's brother died suddenly when he fell through a
skylight and the conference coordinator secretary lost a 13 year old son to
suicide. There have been other attacks as well: severe car accidents and sudden
illnesses have hit ministries. Additionally, in spite of significant
breakthroughs in our nation, I am aware of other pastors who have been
struggling with discouragement and a desire to quit the ministry.
All this to say, we need to pray. This battle is attached to curses released
during the Halloween season. We need to agree in the Holy Spirit to break all
curses and release the blessing of the Lord in a greater way. Beloved, the most
powerful force in the universe is the praying church. So pray for protection for
your pastor, his family, his staff and their families. Pray against the spirit
of discouragement and disappointment.
The Lord promises He "will cause your enemies who rise up against you to be
defeated before you; they shall come out against you one way and shall flee
before you seven ways" (Deut 28:7). Pray for the gift of healing to be released
on a more powerful level. Pray for anointed youth leaders to help gather the
young and wayward back to the Lord. Pray for divine intervention to protect
God's people and their families--to guard their going out and their coming in.
Let's reverse this curse and stand to see the glory of the Lord manifested,
even in the families of those suffering loss right now.
