It surprised ME!
That Scripture that says, (right in the middle of the "Love Chapter". . . )
1 Cor 13:8
. . . Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, THEY WILL CEASE . .
The Lord is funny...the timing that is, --- of when HE chooses to reveal a
new ---an additional-- application to an "old" Scripture passage.

PROPHECIES WILL CEASE!
-----------------------
What the Bible is saying clearly (in the primary application to this
Scripture) is that LOVE NEVER FAILS...even though a time is coming that
KNOWLEDGE PASSES AWAY (Same verse, vs.8. Look it up if you haven't seen it
before) . . . .the time for knowledge to pass away WILL COME but it has not
come yet when knowledge will pass away, and when tongues will be still-- and
when prophecies will cease . . . nevertheless, when it does . . . . LOVE
WILL NEVER FAIL!
That's the main application. That's the main point!
But Just like God, there are multiple levels of applications and that's what
makes the study of the Word so interesting.

ANOTHER APPLICATION TO "PROPHECIES WILL CEASE!"

This weekend, LABOR DAY WEEKEND (There's usually a point to WHEN the Lord
gives the new application), HE gave an additional application.
It can best be explained by my short real-life story: I had a prophecy in
1992. "What you will do, finding missing persons, will have worldwide
implications!" the prophet told me.
Before it was over, I was supplying tear-jerking live-on-television reunions
of mothers and fathers being reunited --as a surprise -- with their
children, brothers and sisters meeting one another for the first time. These
amazing reunions went on for eight years!
Never did a show pass that the audience wasn't in tears. I got letters by
the thousands telling me what I had done for them--to change their lives for
the better. While this went on and on, I was waiting for the "worldwide
implications."
Then they had me be an "expert" guest on the "Geraldo Rivera Show" (three
times) and the Gordon Elliott Show and we provided reunions for Sally Jessie
Raphael. We provided HUNDREDS of TV happy reunions on almost every talk show
on TV in those days, Regis and Kathy Lee for Mother's Day---the "whole ball
of wax," as they say-- along with changed lives all over the place!
More letters. Photos all over my walls of thousands of reunions. I think we
probably reunited 5000 families but I never counted. But I was still waiting
for the prophecy to come true. "Worldwide implications," the prophet had
told me.

LOOKING FOR WORLDWIDE IMPLICATIONS

Are you getting a hint here? Are you seeing my denseness---to put it mildly?
I wanted something "bigger yet." I had 37 employees, thousands of reunions,
families brought back together all over the world . . . but I was waiting
for "worldwide implications." We even flew people in from England to be
reunited. I couldn't wait for the day this would be so big that we would
see, literally, "worldwide implications."
We were the biggest out there. But one day, another unscrupulous agency
appeared. And they had millions of dollars behind them. "No problem," I told
my 37 employees. "They'll be gone in a year. They are being dishonest. They
starting spending all that money on the internet and on national TV. "Don't
worry," I insisted, "God told us we were going to affect the world."
To make a long story short, we closed the door on our company a few years
after that....oh, that was after it went from 37 employees back to just me
in my garage again (because I fought it all the way --- because of the
prophecy). That unscrupulous company? Still in business!
I had one final interview regarding my company in 1998...even in my garage,
by the television program, DATELINE. "Maybe this is where the worldwide
implications will come from," I said to myself. (Can't some of us be thick?)
The most significant interview ever--the largest program with the greatest
number of viewers, in PRIME TIME. I made sure they could see my phone number
behind where they filmed my interview as I told my compelling story--and
they filmed another live mother/daughter reunion.
But then they kept delaying the broadcast. One delay after another. days,
weeks, months!!
By the time they finally aired the story, my phones were all shut off. And I
had gone to work for a friend two hours south.
It was over!

AS FOR PROPHECIES, THEY "WILL" CEASE
-------------------------------------
In the meantime, I started THE ELIJAH LIST. And a new blessing and the favor
of God entered my life, once again!
"As for prophecies, they will cease!"
Many, but not all, of you are coming to the end of some of your significant
prophecies and you don't even know it. Because, like me, you have never
recognized that you have been fulfilling them--or seeing them be fulfilled
all along. It just hasn't looked "big enough" for you.
But as for some of your prophecies, "they will cease."
As we labor (Remember, it was labor day weekend when God revealed this to
me, now four years later), many of our prophecies will cease. It is not our
labor that the Lord seeks most, but our CEASING FROM LABOR.
Often, our prophecies will only cease because God has finished them ...and
HE DOES INDEED have a bigger and better prophecy yet to be prophesied or to
come true in our lives--- but we can hold them back, because we're still
waiting for an old prophecy to be fulfilled that has already BEEN fulfilled.
It is a fact, that as of late, one of my most common remarks to some
prophetic friends is that some of the prophecies that I had back "THEN" seem
to be becoming fulfilled now--even more than then. . . just in a different .
. . a better . . .way. Another odd application.

COME ON, THIS IS SPEAKING TO MANY OF YOU, ISN'T IT?

I believe the Lord's word for many of you is . . . "As for prophecies . .
they will cease!"
Stop holding on to prophecies that HE has already fulfilled in your life,
just because you want it to "look better"--or bigger, or you want greater
vindication, or recognition. If you could see what God has accomplished in
the Spirit with you--- you would feel silly for thinking some of your
prophecies have not yet come true.
So the question is, if the last prophecy(s) has ceased, then what is the new
prophecy for you, because God is always telling HIS PEOPLE:
"See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the desert
and streams in the wasteland.
(Isa 43:19
