During a time of prayer, I saw the nation of Scotland being overshadowed. Raising my eyes towards heaven, I noticed that it was not only Scotland, but that the whole earth was gradually being overshadowed.

As I gazed upwards, I saw that the source of the shadow was Christ Himself, seated upon a white cloud with many legions of angels by His side. The picture was not that of` a triumphal war procession, rather the meekness and majesty of Christ exuded from the heavenly realms, casting His glorious presence across the globe. I was compelled to stillness as I looked on His loveliness and experienced afresh the refuge of the Lord’s overshadowing manifest presence.

THE BANQUET TABLE AND THE WEDDING INVITATIONS

A banqueting table began to descend from the heavens towards the earth. There were, as yet, many empty places at the table. As it descended, countless invitation cards were also released, spiraling down to the earth along with the table itself. The cards were edged with gold and were a gracious invitation by our heavenly Father to attend the wedding feast of the Lamb.

THE POWER OF UNITED PRAYER

The Lord directed my gaze back to the earth and I saw several different scenes. Some of the invitations landed directly in the hands of non-believers, who upon reading them were immediately spiritually awakened and came to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.

I was amazed by this, until glancing to the right I saw that there were many millions on their knees praying that God would sovereignly touch non-believers in every nation on the face of the earth and I understood that the invitations being delivered was an answer to united, Christ centered prayer for the lost.

Other invitations were delivered into the hands of believers, some of whom received perhaps only one invitation to deliver, whilst others received many. These believers were then sent out to lost souls to hand-deliver the invitations.

MERCY TRUCKS FILLED WITH PROVISIONS

Finally, I saw mercy trucks that were being filled with provisions such as food and clothing, and along side of these practical items there were also huge piles of the gold edged invitations inside the trucks too. These trucks were sent on mission trips to the poor and destitute and those who received the food and clothing also received the Master’s invitation to the wedding supper of the Lamb.

The invitations that are shown in the vision are not literal pieces of paper, rather they represent the message of salvation through Jesus Christ, which will be inscribed on hearts that are/will be surrendered to His grace and compassionate mercy.

The vision speaks of the coming harvest, the likes of which we have never seen in terms of the speed at which nations will be simultaneously impacted by revival power. The message to the church is pray, prepare, get ready for the harvest and GO! The overshadowing in the vision speaks of an impartation of power to the church to enable her to fulfill the great commission and the two great commandments.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE “OVERSHADOWED� BY GOD?

The overshadowing of God speaks symbolically of God’s protection (Ps 91, Is 9:2, Is 60:1-2, Mk 4:32, Lk 1:79)) and deliverance from demonic oppression and sickness, alongside of the release of miracles (Acts 5:15). To be overshadowed by God is to rest in the place of His refuge (Ps 91) and to know him as a strong fortress and protection from the enemy of our souls.

Angelic encounters are often a part of the overshadowing process, as Mary the mother of Jesus discovered, when Gabriel appeared before her to announce his heavenly decree. As it was with Mary, so it is for every humble, yielded heart - the overshadowing process releases a deposit of faith “For nothing is impossible with God� Lk 1:37 and brings forth the ministry of Christ!

The overshadowing process speaks of the fulfillment of God’s promises (Isa 38:8) and is a sign of God’s defense of His children. To be overshadowed is to know the faithfulness of God, the fear of the Lord and to receive His favor bestowed on faithful hearts.

Hezekiah came to know the power of God over the very shadows themselves. His experience points to the brevity of life, the experience of death and contrastingly the eternal nature of God and His perfect plan of salvation. Hezekiah’s life was prolonged by an additional fifteen years. He knew the mercy and compassion of God as He came to the defense of His people. (2 Ki 20:9-11, Is 38:8)

THE TRANSFORMING EFFECTS OF OVERSHADOWING

To be overshadowed by the power of God is a transforming process. One cannot help but be changed as the weighty glory of God descends on the earth. In the process of being overshadowed the voice of God is clearly heard, power is imparted on a residual and abiding level, the will of God is made clear and the manifest presence of the Godhead is gloriously revealed. The experience of overshadowing is life changing and permanent.

The world is going to experience the overshadowing of God and the nations will be changed and saved according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus.
