WHY PRAY THAT JESUS WOULD "BECOME" THE ROSE OF "SHARON?" A Word and Call to pray by Steve Shultz, Publisher THE ELIJAH LIST www.elijahlist.com www.theelijahlist.safeshopper.com Steve's email: steve@elijahlist.com The Lord began to speak this afternoon to me about one of His Names. He has a lot them--names that is. One of them is found in the Song of Songs: Song of Solomon 2:1-- "I am a rose of Sharon, a lily of the valleys." One of the Lord's names then, is "The Rose of Sharon." More on that in a minute. But first, understand this . . . ----------------------------------------------------------- WE MUST ASK MORE FROM GOD, THAN WE HAVE EVER ASKED BEFORE ----------------------------------------------------------- We're supposed to ask big things of God. Lately, the Lord has had me tell several people that they are not asking enough ---that is to say, they are not praying for things BIG ENOUGH from him. For instance, Jabez was more honorable than his brothers because he asked for more. He wasn't satisfied with the possible or the likely. He wanted what seemed impossible. What seemed Unlikely. Here it is: 1 Chron 4:9-10-- "Jabez was more honorable than his brothers. . . .Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, 'Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.' AND GOD GRANTED HIS REQUEST." An interesting point about the Word of God is that we are to take it for what it means and what it CAN mean. Jabez realized that God would allow him to pray that, "Your hand, Lord, would be with me." He didn't listen to those of his day that might have said (as they often do today), "God's people should seek His Face and NOT his hand." It's not in the Bible folks . . . . "seek His face and not his hand" is NOT in the Bible. So why do we "quote" it so much, as if it is? We ARE to ask for all that his hand can and wants to give to us and to do for us. What is prayer if it's not that. God delivered Israel by his mighty hand. Should we ask less today? God wants you to be asking for big things . . . Huge things . . . IMPOSSIBLE things. He likes it when we do. ------------------------------------------ NOW WE TURN TO ISRAEL--FOR THE IMPOSSIBLE ------------------------------------------ Having made the point that we should ask God for not only the hard---but the impossible, I want to tell you what He told me today. "Pray that I will 'become' the ROSE OF SHARON" the Lord instructed me. It took me a few seconds until I realized--He was asking me to pray for something completely "impossible" in the mind of most Believers. He was speaking of the Prime Minister of Israel "Ariel Sharon." The Lord is asking us to pray that Prime Minister Sharon, the head of Israel would make Jesus HIS LIFE--HIS ROSE. ------------------------------------------------------ IF IT SOUNDS IMPOSSIBLE--THEN IT QUALIFIES FOR PRAYER ------------------------------------------------------ Does this sound impossible? Then that qualifies for the type of prayers the Lord is seeking from His People right now. Impossible prayers. How many impossible prayers have you prayed lately, anyway. I told my wife the other night that I've been "amping up" my prayers, asking the LORD for simply IMPOSSIBLE things. I feel the Lord's pleasure on my doing it. How can we pray for the peace of Jerusalem without praying for Christ "who is our peace" to be made head of the City of Peace, Jerusalem. So we must ask that Jesus would become the Life, the Peace, the ROSE of Sharon-- Yes, the Rose of Prime Minister Ariel Sharon. If ever a leader needed our prayers, Ariel Sharon needs our prayers now and it matters not what he currently believes about Jesus--Yeshua. It no more matters what Sharon Believes about Jesus, than it mattered what Saul believed about Jesus, as those being persecuted prayed that Saul would find HIS Messiah. Eventually, perhaps, when enough Believers prayed, Jesus showed up on the scene, changed Saul's name to Paul after asking him, "Why are you persecuting me?" I have always felt that Saul was changed through the prayers of the Saints. I feel today that Prime Minister Ariel Sharon can be changed through the prayers of the Saints. By the way, a Jewish scholar researched Ariel Sharon's names. It can mean several things, depending on the interpretation of the Hebrew. Here is what was said: "While Ariel is someone's name, it is also a combination of two common Hebrew words, "Ari" which means lion (or light, or altar), and "El" which refers to God. The name Sharon means "his song" (or "his plain"). So, the name Ariel Sharon can be interpreted to have many meanings, such as: The Lion of God Sings His Song The Altar of God on His Plain The Lion of God on His Plain The Light of God upon His Plain ------------------------- Lord, we as the Body of Christ, during this time of Purim pray---- even decree that Ariel Sharon will find HIS ROSE OF SHARON-- YESHUA, THE MESSIAH. Let Sharon be "The Lion of God who sings HIS SONG. Lord, there has never been a better time for leader of the Jewish people to find his Messiah, than this time, Lord. So this we pray, two or more of us--as touching this issue. Make yourself, Lord, the Rose of Sharon. We agree together for Ariel Sharon, in the Name of Jesus, Yeshua, the Messiah. Amen! -- Steve Shultz
