PURIM AND THE ESTHER FAST

--------------------------

Purim is a Jewish holiday observed in celebration of God’s supernatural deliverance of the Jewish people from Haman’s genocidal plot to destroy them in the time of Persia’s King Artaxerxes. The holiday was held the 14th of Adar (according to the Jewish calendar) in the unwalled cities and the 15th of Adar in the cities that were walled in the time of Joshua.

Esther called for a nationwide three-day fast preceding her intervention on behalf of the Jewish people. She entered the royal throne room on the third day (see Esther 4:16-5:1). This is the same fast we call for the church, a parallel-- a modern-day corporate Esther, to intercede once again on behalf of the Jewish people from deliverance from Haman’s (the enemy of God and His people) plot.

IT IS TIME TO CRY OUT AGAIN!

It is time for us to pray, read and live out the book of Esther again. God is raising up new Mordecai’s who have His grace upon them to prepare the corporate Esther (Body of believers) to do radical exploits in His name in behalf of God’s purposes amongst the Jewish people world wide and in Israel particularly. It is time for The Cry to Arise!

With this view in mind, I and other believers are calling for a three-day fast each Purim for God’s purposes to be fulfilled. For such a time as this have you been chosen! Therefore, I urge you to join me and I pray a multitude of others in a time of serious seeking of the Lord’s face in behalf of Israel this February 24 - 26 (the third day of Purim is the 26th this year).

"For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place and you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows whether you have not attained royalty for such a time as this?" Esther 4:14

"With weeping they shall come, and by supplication I will lead them." (Jeremiah 31:9)

POINTS FOR PRAYER FOR THE CRY FOR ISRAEL AND THE JEWISH PEOPLE!

A. Acts of Identificational Repentance

Cry out to the Lord with brokenness that our Father would forgive us, the Church, for our apathy and fear and for not speaking up and acting with righteousness in past times in history. (Read the 7th chapter of my book Father Forgive US! for more details.)

B. Prayer for an Awakening

Ask the Lord to awaken the global Church of Jesus Christ in this hour to the immediacy and urgency of this message. Intercede that the Lord would raise up modern-day Esthers, Josephs, Daniels and Debras “for such a time as this� to stand in the gap and pray.

C. Prayer for Our Governmental Leaders

Ask the Lord to raise up Godly counselors at this hour to those in authority. Pray that each of our nations’ leaders will take a strong, Biblical stance for Israel and for the city of Jerusalem to be recognized as the undivided sovereign capital of Israel.

D. Prayer for Protection

Lift a Cry to the Lord, that Israel would be kept safe in this hour and that her enemies would be exposed for who they really are. Pray that the enemy’s (Haman’s) plans would be thwarted and that God’s destiny for the Jewish people would be fulfilled in this generation. Prayer a hedge of protection around her borders.

E. Prayer for an Extension of Time

Pray for an extension of a time of mercy and freedom so that the Russian Jews of the “land of the North� may flee during a time of safety so that the time of the fishers could continue and the time of the hunters be pushed back (Jer 16.14-16).

F. Pray for a Movement of Signs and Wonders

Petition the Lord to release an increase of His presence with a movement of signs and wonders in the Middle East. Pray that the blinders would fall off of the eyes of the Jewish and Arabs peoples eyes alike and that they would each recognize and receive Jesus Christ as their sovereign Lord and Prince of Peace.

A CLOSING EXHORTATION FROM MY HEART TO YOURS!

IN THE NAME OF THE LORD, I BOLDLY AND HUMBLY CALL FOR THE EXODUS CRY, A YEARLY, THREE-DAY TIME OF PRAYER AND FASTING CORRESPONDING WITH PURIM.

May this time of crisis intervention prayer and fasting for the purposes of God amongst the Jewish people and the nation of Israel arise until “Jerusalem is established as a praise in the earth� (Is. 62:6,7). It is time for us to advance and to “Seize the Moment!�

But let me now even speak more candidly with you. This CRY resounds in my spirit. Our prayers can avert a premature major war - the devil is attempting to stir up a massive war before the timing of God. Stand with me and others for intervention in this hour!
