2002- A YEAR OF REST, OF PREPARATION, AND BREAKTHROUGH -- A Word through Mike McClung

Here are some things I believe the Lord is speaking to me for the coming year. Your comments, corrections, and feedback is welcomed.

2002 WILL BEGIN THE ENTERING OF THE "SABBATH REST"

In Matthew 16:28-17:8, we read the story of the Lord taking Peter, James, and John, his closest (most intimate) disciples up on the mountain and being transfigured before them. Matt. 17:1 states that after "six days" the Lord took them up and revealed His resurrection glory to them. Many biblical scholars note that this past Rosh Hashanah, according to God's calendar, six thousand years of human history was completed. The Jewish New Year began the "seventh prophetic day" on God's calendar. We have entered the time of God's completion and entering into the fullness of His rest for His church, the Bride. Jesus stated that He was Lord of the Sabbath (Matt. 12:8; Mark 2:28; Luke 6:5). The true Lordship of Christ, in His resurrection glory is about to be revealed in a most profound manner to those who have pursued intimacy with Him.

CHRIST, OUR SABBATH REST

Exodus 31:12-18 delineates the law of the Sabbath, which was to be perpetual throughout the generations of those with a covenant with God. We now understand that Christ Himself is our Sabbath, and we are to labor to enter into the fullness of His presence and rest (Hebrews 4:1-11). The Sabbath was never meant by God to be a legalistic yoke on the necks of His people, but a day set aside for feasting, rejoicing, and communion with God and His people. The fullness of all these are only found in the Lord Himself. Jesus took great pleasure in healing and delivering folk on the Sabbath, much to the consternation of religious people. There is a great wave of healing and deliverance coming to the church for the purpose of healing the wounded Body of Christ and releasing to the harvest. One problem that will arise is that religious people will become very angry and embittered toward those who are pursuing Him in His rest.

THE 'UNLIMITEDS' THAT COME WITH REST

In entering His rest, there will be unlimited provision, unlimited anointing, unlimited love and intimacy, unlimited authority, and unlimited opportunity. We will begin to see Him in the beauty of His riches, His resurrection glory and holiness, and no longer just as He is presented in the gospels - in His poverty as the lowly Servant. The Shekinah cloud of His presence will be seen resting in places and geographical regions around the world.
The fear of the Lord will grow more dynamic in the church, as it happened with Peter and the others when he dared open his mouth in the manifest presence of the Lord. There will be an increasing balance between friendship with the Lord (bride hood - the "beauty realm" message) and the fear of the Lord. This will prepare us to come into intimate oneness with Him and His purposes, and to be trusted with greater anointing, authority, and responsibility.

2002 WILL BE A YEAR OF PREPARATION

One of the words the Lord has imprinted on my heart for 2002 is "preparation." The Church will be called to release everything in our lives that has no eternal value, and get intensely focused on Him and His purposes, and begin preparing for the harvest that is about to be released in fullness. Proverbs 6:6-11 and Luke 12:35-38 are two passages of scripture the Lord said pertained to 2002.

WE MUST ATTEMPT RECONCILIATION

First, in preparation, we must repent, and get right with God and with others. Broken relationships must be attempted to be mended. 2002 will bring a great mending of broken relationships in the Body of Christ, even with the polarization of "religion" (Babylon) and the Bride of Christ.
Saints must get settled and put down roots in 2002. For what is coming on the earth, the days of church hopping, and wandering must cease. We must seek the Lord for where He has placed us in the Body (1 Cor. 12:18). Settling down, becoming accountable, and forging covenant with a local fellowship will be the only safe haven from the storms of the coming years.
It is in these places that the manifest presence of the Lord will be and His covering shadow (Ps. 91).
We must get spiritually, emotionally, and physically ready for the harvest that is about to come in. Very few, if any, were prepared for the events of September 11, 2001. The judgments of the Lord will continue to increase, as will the activity of the enemy. We must be prepared to answer the world's questions with wisdom, love and power.

2002 WILL BE A YEAR OF BREAKTHROUGH

"Breakthrough" is another word that I heard very clearly from the Lord. There will be tremendous breakthroughs in many areas in the church and the world. There will be an increase in the Lord's anointing and authority, with a greater scope to their influence and reach.
There will be breakthroughs in the areas of finances and "brick walls." Seeming curses (continual patterns of loss, failure, or defeat) will begin to break off of individuals, families, churches, and entire regions because of the repentance and intercession that has led up to this point in time.

POINTED SPECIFIC REVELATION TO HELP CHURCH BREAKTHROUGHS

Churches that have continually experienced splits, heartache, and setback will begin to see breakthroughs in all the areas they have suffered loss. This will be preceded by very pointed prophetic revelation coming to them of the problems, sins, and wounds that have laid at the foundation of the problems.
There will be breakthrough in the area of the apostolic. Apostles and apostolic ministry will begin to emerge this year, as the prophetic ministries reach a new level of maturity. The prophetic anointing will grow and the Lord's prophetic strategies will come in more detail than ever. As these foundational ministries begin to come together through their revelation and wisdom, the foundations of the church will be repaired and reworked to propel the church into becoming the "holy city" the Lord destined it to be.

2002 WILL SEE GREATER "SHAKING"
--------------------------------
Because of the Lord's breakthroughs, these breakthroughs will cause great shaking in the heavenlies and in the earth. As the Lord's breakthroughs come, the enemy will lose his place in the heavenly realm. But the scripture says when this happens, the enemy will look to persecute the woman (Rev. 12:13-17). The church and Israel will begin to take more center stage than ever in the enemy's mocking and hatred, but supernatural deliverance, protection, and retribution will begin to be released against the antichrist enemies.

CHURCH WARNED NOT TO PLAY WITH ENEMY'S DELIGHTS

But for those who have not counted the cost and surrendered to His lordship and purposes, the judgments will be tormenting to them. Isaiah 65:1-16 and Isaiah 24:19-23 were passages the Lord highlighted as a warning to the church to quit playing around with the enemy's worldly delights and turn to Him in humility.

INTERCESSION THE KEY TO PREVENT TERRORIST ATTACKS
--------------------------------------------------
Terrorists will continue to seek opportunity to cause mayhem. Only intercession can keep the enemy's attacks from happening or minimizing their impact. Intercessors must seek a greater level of personal purity to enter into a greater watchman anointing and ministry. A great refreshing flow is about to be released on His watchmen and intercessors. They have stood in the gap facing very hot times and intense warfare. The Lord says, "thank you!" for standing for Him and for those who may or may not care!

IT'S TIME FOR MEN TO ARISE FROM THE PEW AND LEAD IN PRAYER

James 5:16 is another scripture the Lord highlighted for this coming year, especially the last part of the verse: "…The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much." (NKJV). The word "righteous" means "to be without partiality, just." It means that one does not "fear the face of man," but makes decisions based on what is right according to God's word. Men must be loosed from the fear of man, and rise up in the church and pray.
Thank God for the women who have labored for millennia in standing in the gap for God's kingdom. Men must answer this call. There is the sound of war in the earth, and the men of God in the church must sound the war cry. Men must begin to enter into the beauty realm of God and pray!
Breakthrough (James 5:16 - "avails MUCH") will come much more speedily as the God-fearing, lovesick men in the church begin to pray. An alternate translation to this scripture reads, "The prayer of a righteous man avails much, when it works." Much "work" is loosed when men in the church turn off "the game" and pray!
