Kathi Pelton: "Pentecost Is a Time of Deliverance for Many!"

Prophetic voices have been speaking much about this being a time of deliverance for many! If you've been praying for the unsaved, your loved ones, or dealing with strongholds yourself, including condemnation...God IS answering your prayers on a grand scale.

Kathi Pelton wrote this powerful word for this Pentecost season as she says:

May 28th is Pentecost Sunday. I saw the Lord highlight this date as a time of deliverance for many. I specifically saw deliverance from the a spirit of religion that has been tormenting many with condemnation. This spirit has been leading them from grace to the law. The Holy Spirit was given to us to empower us, counsel us and fill us with all of the benefits of the finished work of the Cross. He ushers us into a grace that transforms us by His Spirit, not by our own power.

The Root and Effects of Condemnation

Over the past few months, the subject of Believers struggling with condemnation has come up more times than I can count. I have been so surprised by how many people in the Body of Christ are struggling with it and not knowing how to be free.

As I was praying the other day, the Spirit of the Lord said to me, "Kathi, the root of condemnation is a spirit of religion." I saw men and women getting saved and freed from sin and death through the grace of Jesus Christ, but then returning, again and again, to the law as slaves—not sons.

Christ came to die for our sins and to pay the penalty for all of our transgressions. Before He came and died, men had to perform rituals and ceremonies laid out in the Pentateuch (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy). They had to be sure to keep the law and the principles to live by, according to the law, through the means of human strength. But when Pentecost came, after the law had been fulfilled through Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection, Jesus' followers were baptized with the Holy Spirit—being strengthened and helped by His Spirit, and no longer limited by human strength. Condemnation enters in when we leave the finished work of the Cross and the gift given to us at Pentecost. This departure from grace and His Spirit moving in us is causing many to return to the law and to human strength to try to "get right with God." The spirit of religion always enslaves men to something they must do by mere human strength to receive from God. The law and religion give them endless hoops to jump through and then condemns them for not doing it well enough or fast enough.

Perfection Achieved!

Under religion, or the law, the gifts of forgiveness and grace are no longer enough. It demands more; it demands perfection, and it condemns when perfection is not achieved.

BUT PERFECTION WAS ACHIEVED!

It was achieved through Christ alone, and He paid for every sin and shortcoming that has ever taken place. You merely have to believe that He is Messiah (Savior) and receive His gift of grace. Then your Pentecost will come and the Spirit will fill you.

For those of you who struggle deeply with condemnation, know this: What you struggle with is a spirit of religion that keeps you returning to the law and denying the finished and complete work of the Cross. Today, you can renounce that spirit, return to the finished work of the Cross, and close the door on every agreement/partnership with human strength, perfection and impulse to earn "right standing with God" through works—then seal it with the Blood of Jesus! Do this every time that condemnation comes your way. Call it what it is and do not follow its lead, because it only wants to take you to the law where it chains you as a slave. The Lord desires to break every name of Ba'al (meaning "master") off of you that has made you a slave to a harsh taskmaster. He is coming with His name, and you will call Him "Husband," not "master."

"'But then I will win her back once again. I will lead her into the desert and speak tenderly to her there. I will return her vineyards to her and transform the Valley of Trouble into a gateway of hope. She will give herself to Me there, as she did long ago when she was young, when I freed her from her captivity in Egypt. When that day comes,' says the LORD, 'you will call Me "my husband" instead of "my master."'" (Hosea 2:14-16)

"...'Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,' says the LORD of hosts." (Zechariah 4:6)

As Believers, we are to fully rely upon the Spirit of the Lord to lead us into all truth, justice and reconciliation. It is by His power that we begin to live in God's principles. Jesus did this perfectly, fulfilling the law for us. His Spirit then filled us so that we can walk in the grace and righteousness of Christ.

"So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to Him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death. The law of Moses was unable to save us because of the weakness of our sinful nature. So God did what the law could not do. He sent His own Son in a body like the bodies we sinners have. And in that body God declared an end to sin's control over us by giving His Son as a sacrifice for our sins. He did this so that the just requirement of the law would be fully satisfied for us, who no longer follow our sinful nature but instead follow the Spirit." (Romans 8:1-4)

Who the Son has sets free is free indeed! Your day of deliverance is upon you!
