Sandie Freed: "I Will Be With You" – An Encouraging Word for Challenging Times

by Sandie Freed
Feb 17, 2016

Steve ShultzFrom the desk of Steve Shultz:

We ALL need to be encouraged along our journey and what God is calling us to. There are many new things He is doing and branching the Body out in... which requires an increased walk of faith through the new journey.

Sandie Freed sure knows how to encourage the Body of Christ as she shares in her new word:

God is saying to us, "I am calling you and I will be with you. And, in this journey, I will be with you and I will at the same time heal your heart and every area of doubt will be dealt with by My presence. I am touching every area of doubt, unbelief, and every lie of disqualification and weakness. In this journey that you are on, I will be faithful to heal you, deliver you, remove and take out all that needs to be removed from your life, and as your Physician, I will stitch you up again. You will be and will reveal My glory on this earth!"

Yes, you are CALLED!!! ...And He is equipping you and providing for you along this journey.

Dear Believers,

When the Lord asks you to step out and fulfill an assignment, have you ever felt completely unqualified? How about overwhelmed because the task just seemed too difficult? Just the other day as I was glancing over my calendar for 2016, I almost experienced an anxiety attack. Why? Because my calendar was filling up quickly and I really didn't know if I could fulfill the requirements attached to the calendar events!

Allow me to explain a little more. Last year, for me, was rough! I struggled for the entire year with severe vertigo and exhaustion. I had to limit my travel so that I could recuperate and take care of myself...and my body. Still, during that rest time, I wrote another book, started another, and did a small amount of travel besides co-pastoring with my husband, Mickey. So, actually, I am still learning how to rest in the Lord! Maybe some of you have been on a similar journey.

I know what it is like to have a works mentality in ministry, and I assure you that I have been renewing my mind concerning God's goodness and His grace. I now realize that it is not what I do for Him that counts...it's who I am in Him that matters. Still, ministry in any shape, form, or arena can be exhausting, and as I was planning another year of "serving Him," I became completely overwhelmed. And, dear ones, at an overwhelmed state we can easily open the doors to the lies of the accuser of the brethren which says these types of things to us: (Photo via Pixabay)

• You're unqualified.
• You don't preach/minister well.
• You're a nobody.
• Who wants to listen to you speak?
• You don't have the energy to travel/speak.

Those examples are lies. All lies! Let me remind you that the devil is a liar! First, you and I are qualified because we are Believers in Jesus Christ and we have been given a divine commission to minister the Gospel, heal the sick, raise the dead, and cast out devils! (See Matthew 10:8). The commission to do these things in the name of Jesus qualifies you!

Jeremiah gave the excuse to God that he couldn't fulfill his role as a prophet to the nations because he was too young (maybe not quite learned enough) and couldn't speak well. But God touched His mouth and then Jeremiah was able to see his new season. That word touched means that, yes, God's hand touched Jeremiah, but a further study in Hebrew reveals that God, Himself, reached out with His mighty hand and did a violent action against the unbelief structure with which Jeremiah was struggling.

Believer, I believe that when the enemy says, "You're unqualified," that God desires to strike the enemy and defeat every lie that opposes your fulfilling divine destiny! Our fulfilled destiny is important to God, and His promise to us is that He will touch any area in our lives that attempts to steal it!

"I Will Be With You"

As I was praying over my schedule, my being overwhelmed, and completely deflated the other night, I fell asleep and had a dream. In the dream, there were many text messages coming over my phone. I would look at the text and these same words kept appearing: "I will be with you." Over and over, text after text, were these words: "I will be with you." When I awoke from the dream, I knew that the Lord was assuring me to not be overwhelmed, afraid, or intimidated about what He has called me to do because He would be with me! (Photo via Pixabay)

Now I know...that should be a no-brainer, right? Isn't He always with us? Well, yes. But, I am realizing that God wants to assure us that He will be with us in this year and the coming seasons! Whatever He has spoken to us that we are to do... He promises to be with us!

No matter if you are a pastor and you want to quit, He is saying, "Keep going forward...I will be with you!" If you are a traveling minister and just don't know if you have the strength to keep moving forward...He is saying to you..."I am with you!" If you are a leader of an organization, business owner, or even an employee of a business...He is saying, "I am with you!" And, if you are a mother and a stay-at-home mom (or a dad!), He is saying, "I am with you!"

Believer, no matter what He has spoken to you to do in this season, He is promising to back you up, be there with you in the battle, lead and guide you, protect you, and in every step of the way He says, "I will be with you!"

Biblical Examples of His Promise

There are numerous examples in Scripture where the Lord specifically said to others, "I will go with you," or, "I will be with you." One awesome testimony of God's faithfulness was with Moses. Moses felt unqualified also, like many of us. He just couldn't visualize God using Him as a deliverer...yet God assured Moses that He would go with him through the entire Exodus.

Think about it: Moses had a lot of challenges...he faced insecurity, the rejection of the people (constantly!), and yet God was faithful to deliver Israel, part the Red Sea, feed and water them, etc. God surely was with Moses, and He, Himself, proved His faithfulness to him. Then, what about Jacob? He sent Jacob back to his homeland to face Esau. God told Jacob, "I will go with you." And that gave Jacob courage to move forward. He also told Jacob to return to Egypt and to meet with his son, Joseph. His words to Jacob were once again, "I will go with you."

And, furthermore, there's Joshua. After Moses died, God promised to be with him also. I believe Joshua needed affirmation from God. After all...who can follow in the footsteps of Moses? Joshua was probably somewhat afraid, intimidated, and believed he was unqualified! It might be why God kept telling Joshua to be not afraid or dismayed...but remain strong and courageous (read Joshua 1:1-18). (Photo by CrossMap World via Flickr)

I know that I have taken on challenges that seemed absolutely impossible...but God told me to "be strong and of good courage!" But, as I write, I am reminded once again that He told Joshua that though he needed to remain courageous...He promised Him this..."I will be with you; I will not fail you or forsake you" (Joshua 1:5).

Interestingly, when we study the word "forsake" in that passage, it means that God will not loosen His hold on us or leave us. But when we look closely at the passage that says "I will not fail"...it refers more to what inside of us needs to be healed by Him along the journey that we are on (Strong's 7503 and 7495). If you take time to study this all the way through, you will realize that God is promising to stitch every wound that we have along the way.

So, if we have felt that He is untrustworthy...He is the Master Surgeon doing the stitching of that lie. If we believe we are unworthy or unqualified...He is stitching up that wounded spirit and healing us and delivering us from the lies of the accuser!

Oh! I love this, don't you? God is saying to us, "I am calling you and I will be with you. And, in this journey, I will be with you and I will at the same time heal your heart and every area of doubt will be dealt with by My presence. I am touching every area of doubt, unbelief, and every lie of disqualification and weakness. In this journey that you are on, I will be faithful to heal you, deliver you, remove and take out all that needs to be removed from your life, and as your Physician, I will stitch you up again. You will be and will reveal My glory on this earth!"

I could go on with more examples like Gideon, Deborah, and Abraham. But for each of us today, let's be determined that no matter what obstacle attempts to deflate our faith in God's ability to lead, direct, and protect us that we remind ourselves of His promises to us. Matthew 28:20 says, "I with you always, even to the end of the age." Now, that's a promise each of us has...no matter what the enemy says!

Committed to Fulfill Destiny

I know that you are like me in that you are also committed to fulfilling divine destiny. I have written an entire book that exposes the opposition Believers experience as they attempt to trust God and forge ahead into their future. In my recent book Destiny Thieves: Defeat Seducing Spirits and Achieve Your Purpose in God, I go to great lengths to empower others and position them to believe for their inheritance in Christ. I discuss subjects like:

• Overcoming difficult and "perilous" times
• Exposing and defeating a Jezebel spirit
• Exposing and defeating the spirit of Belial that plots with Jezebel to steal our inheritance
• How to purge out the leaven in our belief systems and overthrow religious mindsets
• How to protect the seeds of the generations
• How to shift into destiny.

God is promising to be with us in all that we do to promote the Kingdom! Whatever He has commissioned you to do, He is promising to go with us, be with us, and empower us with His divine presence.

Allow this article to be a supernatural charge to your spirit! Rise up, dear Believer, victory and breakthrough await you as you fulfill your divine assignments.
